Chef’s Log 74: On (Human) Food Snobbery

I’m all for fine wine
and how it can make flavours shine
But when I’m unsure which
wine to eat with my dish,
I always hear that judgmental whine

And it will probably take multiple lives
and references to several archives
to gain some small fraction
of satisfaction
regarding my knowledge of knives

And forgive me if I refuse to bend
to whatever is the latest food trend
I think avocados are a waste
and I don’t enjoy the taste
But there’s no need to condescend

It is annoying, to say the least
when knowledge and pretension combine
to embolden humans to cross a line
For god’s sake, let me feast in peace
